Get Ahead on Paper 1 - Written Exam

For written exam practice, you would receive a previously released exam. Using that exam, we would do one of the following:

The 30-minute online consultation could include:

• Analysis of the mark scheme.
• Expert advice on how to write successful responses.
• Analysis of the passages, questions, and suggested answers.

You could choose to complete a released exam as a mock exam prior to the consultation or simply read the passages and questions during the session and discuss how you would answer.

  30-minute offline preparation:

• You take the previously released exam and send your responses to me.
• I read your responses and prepare feedback prior to our meeting. 

30-minute online consultation:

• A 30-minute discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of your response and how you could improve.
• And/or discussion of any of the topics included in "30-Minute Online Consultation," above, in relation to your responses.

In addition to the previously released exam, you would be provided with sample student answers, the suggested answers used in scoring, and the mark scheme. We meet online for a total of one hour to discuss:

• How you would score the sample and your reasoning
• Expert feedback
• Analysis of strengths and weaknesses of the sample response
• How to apply what you have learned to your own written exam.
