I can support you to:

• understand the requirements / interpret the mark scheme.
• formulate an appropriate global question (not too broad or narrow).
• develop a suitable approach to your research, including search terms, sources of information, and perspectives/arguments.
• develop organizational skills for both research and writing.
• cite and reference your sources. 
• focus on reconstruction and reflection.
• write effectively and concisely to stay within the word count.

I cannot:

• proofread your paper.
• give you sources.
• conduct any of your research.
• directly tell you specifically how to improve your paper

This 30-minute online consultation is tailored to individual student needs and could include:

• Analysis of the mark scheme and requirements for the paper
• Advice on conducting effective research.
• Discussion of your research question and research direction.
• Understanding how to craft an effective direction for further research.

30-minute offline preparation:

• You provide me with an outline, notes, and/or annotated bibliography.
• I use the provided material to prepare for 30 minutes prior to our meeting. 

30-minute online consultation:

• A 30-minute discussion - led by you - regarding the material you have provided.
• The consultation could include discussion of any of the topics included in "30-Minute Online Consultation," above, in relation to your own research.

You will be provided with a sample paper. We meet online for a total of one hour to discuss:

• How you would score the paper 
• Your reasoning behind the score 
• Analysis of strengths and weaknesses of the sample
• Expert feedback
• How to apply what you have learned to your own research and paper.

We meet for 30 minutes to ensure proper credit is given to sources, including when to cite and how to format in-text citations and references pages.*

*I highly recommend using APA format but can assist you with MLA as well.
